The Black Horse - Standlake

Updated: Aug 12, 2020

The Black Horse in Standlake is a true benchmark for what a real English village pub should be. It’s small front door leads you into the cosy bar front, warmed by an open fireplace and supported by aged oak beams and its 16th century walls. Despite its deceivingly small size, the pub has numerous tables tucked away in every nook and cranny where locals from the surrounding villages gather. During summer, the secluded garden is the perfect place to enjoy lunch after a good walk. A must-visit if you’re in the area.

A Word From The Pub

"The Black Horse started life at least 350 years ago built as an inn. It was later converted into a traditional Cotswolds pub and, to this day, remains the heart of the village and a great place to while away a few hours. Although the pub has changed so much over the years its character hasn’t. Inside you will find exposed beams & fire places. Whilst outside you will step into a brand new patio area with pergola. The Black Horse ethos is to serve great food and drink in laid back environment."
