The Killingworth Castle - Wootton

Updated: Aug 12, 2020

As you pass down the hill through the village of Wootton, the Killingworth Castle appears as a welcome chance for a refreshing drink and bite to eat. This delightful 17th century coaching inn offers excellent freshly cooked food all days of the week, and boasts its very own Cotswold brew - the Yubberton beers.

A Word From The Pub

"Built in 1637, The Killingworth Castle has fallen into dereliction under Greene King Ownership when publican, Claire & Jim Alexander (who own The Ebrington Arms bear Chipping Campden, a Times newspaper UK No 1 pub) got their hands on it. After a major transformation in 2012 and the addition of 8 letting bedrooms in the adjacent former stable blocks in 2015 the pub has gone on to win many accolades. It’s been an Oxford Times Pub and Restaurant of the Year and is now certified organic by the Soil Association. Up to 75% of the menu is always organic produce. It’s the perfect escape for a UK holiday as well as for foodies and ale lovers in The Oxfordshire Cotswolds as it’s just around the corner from Woodstock and Blenheim Palace."
